Jany’s first introduction to Classical Music was hearing her best friend play the Minuet in G major from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach at age of 7 in Japan. Ever since then, her love for Classical music kept growing, and now striving more than ever. Jany is a frequent performer and award winner. She has won numerous awards and scholarships from Greater Victoria Performance Art Festival, and scored runner-up with her quintet in Performance Art BC. Her studies began in Japan, then Victoria BC Canada at Victoria Conservatory of Music. At the Conservatory, on top of her solo piano studies, she joined a comprehensive chamber music program for advanced students called Collegium, where she learned to love chamber music as much as solo playing. Jany has also participated in the Piano Summer Academy at the Conservatory for many years. In 2012, she was selected as a soloist for a concerto competition, where she performed Mozart’s C minor Piano Concerto with the Victoria Conservatory Orchestra.
