Alysha holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. She has been teaching woodwind lessons in different settings, including at music camps, for over five years.
During her university years, she received numerous notable awards including the Doreen Hall Scholarship for her work in early childhood music education and the Pandit Jasraj Endowment for her keen interest in Ethnomusicology.
Alysha has experience performing and instructing in many genres and styles of music including symphonic winds, orchestral, popular, jazz, Sufi, Klezmer, West African and classical music. Most recently, she performed in France at the residence of His Highness the Aga Khan for His Diamond Jubilee Inauguration Ceremony with a group of musicians from around the world.
At the moment, she can be found teaching preschool and woodwinds lessons at Melody School, as well as performing solo and as a part of duets and chamber groups around Toronto.
